Cash Eruption — Bonus Features
Cash Eruption is built around the Fireball respins, four jackpot tiers, an expanding wild and a colossal-reel free spins round. Here's the trigger and the payout on each.
Here's how to reach them — the step-by-step Cash Eruption guide shows the way.
How Each Feature Pays
Trigger conditions, what actually happens on the grid, the jackpot tier values, and where each round is worth your attention.
Fireball Respin Bonus
How to Trigger
Six or more Fireball symbols on a single base-game spin. Three is not enough — this is the one rule most write-ups get wrong.
What Happens
IGT's take on hold-and-win. Every Fireball on screen locks into its position showing either a cash value or one of the four jackpot symbols, and the rest of the grid keeps respinning around them. You start with three respins; each new Fireball that sticks resets the counter back to three. The round ends when a respin adds nothing new, or when all fifteen positions are filled — which awards the Grand Treasure on top of everything the Fireballs are showing.
Values & Multipliers
Locked Fireballs pay whatever value they reveal, and the jackpot symbols pay their tier: Mini 5x your stake, Minor 25x, Major 100x, and the Grand Treasure for a full grid. Nothing multiplies the total — the round pays the sum of what stuck.
Worth Knowing
One version of the round, whether it starts in the base game or during free spins. There is no enhanced or premium tier.
Strategy
Six Fireballs at once is a demanding trigger, and the base game has no way to work toward it — you cannot collect Fireballs across spins. Size your stake so you can sit through quiet stretches rather than betting big for a round you might not reach.
| Trigger | 6+ Fireballs on one spin |
| Respins | 3, reset by each new Fireball |
| Locked Symbols | Cash value or a jackpot symbol |
| Full Grid | All 15 positions = Grand Treasure |
Four-Tier Jackpots
How to Trigger
A jackpot symbol appearing on a locked Fireball during the respin round.
What Happens
The four tiers are not a separate game or a side bet — they arrive on the Fireballs themselves. Mini and Minor turn up often enough to pad an ordinary round; Major is a genuine session highlight; the Grand Treasure needs the full fifteen positions, which is the same condition as the round's best possible outcome. Every jackpot awarded is added to the cash values already on the grid.
Values & Multipliers
Mini 5x stake, Minor 25x, Major 100x. The Grand Treasure is the top tier, paid for filling every position.
Worth Knowing
Fixed tiers rather than a progressive meter — the values do not grow while people play.
Strategy
Nothing you do influences which tier turns up. What the tiers do change is how you read a bonus round: a Major on a mid-sized board can outpay a fuller board with no jackpot on it at all.
| Mini | 5x stake |
| Minor | 25x stake |
| Major | 100x stake |
| Grand Treasure | Full grid of Fireballs |
| Type | Fixed tiers, not progressive |
Expanding Fire Goddess Wild
How to Trigger
The Fire Goddess lands where she can complete a winning combination.
What Happens
She substitutes for the paying symbols and expands to cover her whole reel when a win is available. Across twenty fixed paylines a single expanded reel can complete several lines on the same spin, and she stays in play during free spins, where she can land inside the colossal block on the middle reels.
Values & Multipliers
No multiplier attached. The value is in line coverage — one expanded reel completing several paylines at once.
Strategy
This is the mechanic that keeps a session breathing between Fireball rounds. It will not build a balance on its own, and it is worth remembering the Goddess does not substitute for Fireballs or Volcano scatters — she cannot help you reach either bonus.
| Symbol | Fire Goddess |
| Behaviour | Expands to fill the reel |
| Substitutes For | Paying symbols only |
| Does Not Replace | Fireballs or Volcano scatters |
Free Spins with a Colossal Reel
How to Trigger
Three or more Volcano scatters anywhere on the grid.
What Happens
The scatters pay first — 2x your stake for three, 15x for four, 100x for five — and then six free spins begin. During those spins reels two, three and four are linked into a single oversized symbol nine positions tall. One high symbol landing in that block hits several paylines at once; one low symbol does the opposite and the spin passes quietly.
Values & Multipliers
The scatter pays 2x, 15x or 100x your stake on the trigger itself. The free spins carry no line multiplier — the colossal block is the mechanic.
Worth Knowing
Six spins regardless of how many scatters triggered it; the scatter count changes the cash award, not the spin count.
Strategy
Read this round as a scatter payout plus a lottery on what lands in the middle block. Five scatters paying 100x your stake is often the larger half of what the feature ends up being worth.
| Trigger | 3+ Volcano scatters |
| Scatter Pays | 2x / 15x / 100x stake |
| Free Spins | 6 |
| Reels 2-4 | Locked into one colossal symbol |
How the Payouts Stack Up
Locked Fireballs pay the values they reveal, and jackpot symbols pay their tier: Mini 5x your stake, Minor 25x, Major 100x, and the Grand Treasure for a full fifteen. Nothing multiplies the total — the round pays the sum of what stuck to the grid. The scatter award is separate again, at 2x, 15x or 100x your stake for three, four or five Volcanoes.
The respin counter goes back to three every time a fresh Fireball locks, so a strong run can extend the round well past its opening. It closes only when a respin brings nothing new, or when all fifteen positions are Fireballs and the Grand Treasure lands on top.
Six Fireballs on one spin is the whole gate, and there's no meter, no collection and no buy button to get around it. That makes Cash Eruption a patience game: the base reels and the expanding Fire Goddess are there to keep you in the chair, not to build a balance.
No Feature Buy on This One
IGT doesn't offer a feature purchase on Cash Eruption. Both bonuses have to be triggered on the reels — six Fireballs for the respins, three Volcano scatters for the free spins. If a site shows you a buy button for this title, you're not looking at the IGT original.
